With temperatures, on the rise ticks are getting hungry. The weather and spending time outside are great, but Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, and other tick-borne illnesses are not. The best prevention for tick-borne illnesses is to prevent tick bites in the first place.
Preventing Tick Bites:
- Avoid tick habitat when possible. Ticks prefer overgrown bush and tall grass.
- If you are in a high tick area, try to stay in the center of a path.
- Cover up! Wear pants long sleeves and long socks. Tuck your pants into your socks for the best protection. Light-colored clothing makes it easier to spot ticks.
- Use tick and Insect repellant! We have a great selection of tick repellants for both humans and pets!
- Check for ticks when before you go inside. You do not want to have ticks hitch a ride into your house.
