WHY RAW?

The genetic makeup and internal workings of your dog or cat are essentially the same as their wild carnivorous ancestors. Like us, when they eat the best foods for them, they feel the best and look the best. Incorporating some raw foods into your animals’ diet is like you and I trying to eat fresh, raw salads and vegetables. We just feel better when we eat whole, raw foods without processing and heating which destroys so much of the enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and vital sources.

Benefits of Raw Diet:

  • Teeth: a raw diet is good for carnivores because their teeth are designed for cutting and tearing, not grinding
  • Digestive Tract: Carnivores have a short digestive tract designed for quickly absorbing nutrients which is harder to do with dry food.
  • Diet: Pets like there ancestors thrive on a diet high on protein and low on carbs

Do what you can. A small change can have a big impact! Many people either cannot afford or do not feel comfortable feeding an all-raw diet. Research shows that offering some healthy foods is better than offering no healthy foods at all. Take baby steps towards providing the best diet you can afford for your dog or cat.

• Replace a handful of kibble with a handful of raw, species-appropriate alternatives. This can be meat, or fruits and veggies.

• Try to feed maybe 2-4 fresh food meals a week
