A drain snake rental is usually the fastest and cheapest way to deal with a slow or blocked line, and it is one of the tools folks come back to us for most often. When a shower backs up on a Saturday morning, renting an auger for the afternoon costs a good deal less than a weekend service call.
We keep drain and sewer augers for the clogs a hand snake will never reach, along with pipe threading and cutting equipment, and thawing gear for the lines that give out in February. Plumbers rent from us when a second machine is already out on another job. Homeowners rent when something simply will not drain. Camp and second home owners come in every spring when they open a place that sat cold all winter.
Come talk to us before you pick a machine. Pipe diameter, how far the run goes, and whether the line heads to a septic tank or a town connection all change the answer, and we would much rather help you get it right the first time.
Everything else you need is a few aisles over in the plumbing department: fittings, PEX, cleaners, gaskets and safety glasses.
